At a very young age Sammy Nestico became staff arranger for the ABC radio station. He was chief arranger and director of the White House orchestra during the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. Between 1970 and 1980 Sammy wrote for the Count Basie orchestra. He directed the recording of ten Basie albums of original music, four of which won Grammy awards. He also worked for Capitol Records, co-writing the equivalent of sixty-three albums for the company. through the years, Sammy's writing credits have grown to include work for all major TV and film studios. In between all this he has published several hundred pieces in the field of education ranging in difficulty from elementary to university levels. |
